Who's your favorite Detroit icon? DHS costume contest for all ages is Saturday July 30!
Be a Detroit legend at Detroit Historical Society!

As part of Detroit Heritage Week, the Detroit Historical Society is hosting a Detroit legends costume contest. Visitors of all ages are invited to come dressed as their favorite Detroit icon of music, sports, media and culture. Detroit City Councilman James Tate will award first and second place prizes to winners in three age groups: 12 and under, 13 – 17 and 18 and older. First place winners receive $100, while second place winners take home $50.

Visitors are invited to vote for potential Detroit Legends Plaza candidates in the Kresge Gallery and to share treasured Detroit memories in a video recording booth in the Cadillac Café - to be edited and compiled for the Society’s YouTube Channel.
